Water resources in southern Africa are diminishing, and the cost of transporting water is rising. Waste treatment plants and water infrastructures are under severe strain. Basic maintenance is not where it should be, and so the wasting and polluting of water sources occurs because infrastructures are not well maintained.

The new Green Drop report shows that only 8% of the country’s current waste water infrastructure is in good working order. 25% of people are still using the bucket system- the solving of our core problems lies in the creation and maintenance of basic infrastructures.
